Site establishment

The trial site was prepared and planted in 2004. The eight cultivars were established in 30 tree plots and replicated three times. Trees were planted with 4 m between rows and 3 m between trees to produce a stocking of 833 stems per hectare.

Trial Assessment

Assessments were recorded between August and September 2009 when the trees were aged five. The measurements included DBH, height, erectness, fork, stem straightness, branch angle, Branch Index (BIX), branch frequency, and canker. For a description of each measurement see the complete report 2004 Elite Cypress Forestry Trial
