Research Projects
PIRSA Forestry supports many research trials and demonstration sites, particularly in the Upper South East and more recently on Kangaroo Island.
An example of that research is a wide-spaced sawlog trial developed on Kangaroo Island. The trial was funded by the Australian Government Envirofund and assisted by PIRSA Forestry and Kangaroo Island Private Forestry. The project aims to test the growing of high-grade sawlog timber in 25 year rotations.
