Research Projects

PIRSA Forestry supports and is involved with many research trials and demonstration sites, particularly in the Upper South East and more recently on Kangaroo Island.

An example of current research is a wide-spaced sawlog trial being developed on Kangaroo Island. This trial is funded by the Australian Government Envirofund and assisted by PIRSA Forestry and Kangaroo Island Private Forestry. The project is aimed at growing high-grade sawlog timber in 25 year rotations.
