Meat Hygiene

The Meat Hygiene Unit sits within the Agriculture, Food and Wine Division of Primary Industries and Resources SA.

It applies legislation, verification and food safety initiatives that promotes and improves food safety in meat resulting in better food hygiene outcomes, ongoing consumer and industry confidence and enhanced market access.

The Unit is responsible for the administration and enforcement of the Primary Produce (Food Safety Schemes) (Meat Industry) Regulations 2006.
