Richard Gunner supplies premium South Australian meat to Australia's very best restaurants, and was even featured on the menus when Noma brought its world-famous kitchen from Copenhagen to Sydney and Heston Blumenthal set up The Fat Duck in Melbourne.
With wife Helen, Richard operates two successful businesses.
Feast! Fine Foods, which was established in 2001 to showcase beef and lamb sourced from the family's properties in the Coorong, now provides branded products from a range of dedicated South Australian producers and offers a range of house-made smallgoods under the Newbury & Watson brand.
Its flagship brands, Coorong Angus Beef and Pure Suffolk Lamb, are supplied by an integrated business, Richard Gunner's Fine Meats.
Richard's 'paddock to plate' philosophy spans production to marketing and focuses on the quality and consistency of ethically produced meat.
"South Australia is a great place for great food - we can take the title," he said.
"It is the place to be right now for food production, and the clean and green aspects of it have become a real focus."
