Aquatic Reserves GPS & Google Earth downloads

The Aquatic Reserves locations have been broken down into different components to suit being loaded into most GPS units and Marine Chart Plotters. The data can be downloaded as:

  • Lines - outlining the boundaries (excluding the coast) which are referred to as tracks by most GPS units or Marine Chart Plotters
  • Points - the legally defined coordinates of the boundaries as stated in the Fisheries Management Act 2007 and the SA Government Gazette of 29 November 2007 (page 4386). Points are normally referred to as waypoints by most GPS units or Marine Chart Plotters
  • Labels - these are points or waypoints that have been generated based on the centroid position (these are good for loading onto a GPS if you only load the Lines as most GPS units or Marine Chart Plotters don’t label track names on the screen)
