Interim Snapper limit announced
A commercial daily trip limit for Snapper has been introduced as an interim measure to protect local stocks. The change is effective 1 January to 31 June 2012 and will contain commercial fishers to an 800 kg daily commercial trip limit within gulf waters. Economic Performance Indicators

Economic performance indicators include:

  • gross value of production (catch and price)
  • the cost of the management of the fishery
  • financial performance indicators (income, costs, profit and return on investment)
  • determination of any major cost increases
  • economic impact of the fishery
  • economic rent.

The report Economic Indicators for the Commercial Fisheries of 2007/2008 summarises the results of economic surveys that were conducted in each of the commercial fisheries in South Australia.

Annual reports of economic performance indicators are provided by all major fisheries in South Australia to meet the obligations of the Fisheries Management Act 2007.
