Weeds of national significance

Weeds of National Significance (WoNS) comprise 20 species that are considered Australia's worst invasive plants.  These weeds have proven social, economic and environmental impacts that occur at a scale that requires national action to manage and reduce their damage.

A national strategy for each WoNS specifies actions to better manage the weed and each of the WoNS programs is overseen by a national management committee and facilitated by a national coordinator.
