| Weeds of National Significance (WoNS) comprise 32 species that are considered Australia's worst invasive plants. These weeds have proven social, economic and environmental impacts that occur at a scale that requires national action to manage and reduce their damage. A national strategy for each WoNS specifies actions to better manage the weed and each of the WoNS programs is overseen by a national management committee and facilitated by a national coordinator. The following WoNS are known to occur in South Australia:
