In building this site and migrating content from its previous content management system, PIRSA has tried to ensure that its content conforms with Level A of the W3C's Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 1.0.
However, a proportion of our web content currently exists only in the form of PDF files and many of these consist of scanned images of archival documents. At the present time, Text Equivalents are provided for very few of our PDF files. A HTML summary of the files will be added over time. If you require access to any of our PDF files in an alternative accessible format, please contact our web team leader (Mark Barber) (telephone +61 8 8463 3341) or contact our disability coordinator (Lynn Hayward) (telephone +61 8 8226 0484).
Please see section below for options on converting PDF files to more accessible formats and visit the Adobe website for more information on Acrobat accessibility.
Also, despite our efforts to ensure Level A compliance, you might encounter some pages with data tables that do not include correct HTML markup to identify headers or associate data cells with their appropriate header cells. If you have trouble interpreting any such tables, please contact us so that we can provide assistance and also correct the markup for future users.
Online conversion tools for Adobe PDF documents are provided on the Adobe website.
You can also email the URL (web address) of the PDF in the body of an email message and you'll receive an alternative version. You can submit multiple URLs in a single email:
•to receive a plain text version: email pdf2txt@adobe.com
•to receive an HTML version: email pdf2html@adobe.com
