Food Standards Australia New Zealand
Food Standards Australia New Zealand's (FSANZ) main responsibility is to develop and administer the Australia New Zealand Food Standards Code which lists requirements for foods such as additives, food safety, labelling and GM foods.

The Food Safety Information Council aims to reduce the number of Australians getting sick from food poisoning by providing simple, easy to follow consumer information on the handling, storage and preparation of food.

Australian Quarantine and Inspection Service (AQIS)
AQIS is part of the Australian Government Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry (DAFF). AQIS manages quarantine controls at our borders to minimise the risk of exotic pests and diseases entering the country. AQIS also provides import and export inspection and certification to help retain Australia's highly favourable animal, plant and human health status and wide access to overseas export markets.
