Ministerial Advisory Committee

The Ministerial Advisory Group (MAC) 

The MAC's function is to provide balanced advice to the Minister for Environment and Conservation.  The Minister is ultimately responsible for the management of the Branched Broomrape Eradication Program and takes advice from the MAC as well as other groups including external funding bodies when making decisions. 

MAC members represent a range of interest groups including Industry bodies. 

The groups which are represented on the MAC include: 

  • The Australian Barley Board
  • The Grains Council of Australia
  • Primary Industries & Resources SA
  • The Department of Water, Land & Biodiversity Conservation
  • The South Australian Farmers Federation
  • The Community Focus Group (3 members)
  • The Murray Darling Basin Natural Resources Management Board
  • The Australian Weeds Committee
