PIRSA run free NLIS producer workshops across South Australia on demand.
Over 3000 South Australian cattle, sheep and goat producers have already set up their own database account on the NLIS database. These producers now have the ability to monitor and manage their livestock transfers to ensure all cattle, sheep and goats are transferred correctly.
NLIS workshops aim to teach producers how to manage and utilise the NLIS database for their own livestock enterprise, including regulatory requirements, and management applications.
These small, hands-on workshops allow producers to practise some of the more important uses of the database so that they feel confident using the system in their own home.
Emphasis is put on showing producers how to correctly transfer cattle, sheep or goats on and off their Property Identification Code (PIC), as well as how to check that other parties, such as saleyards and abattoirs, are transferring their stock correctly. This helps ensure that stock are traceable.
Producers will learn how to:
Workshops can be organised in your area on demand, and will take approximately three hours.
Group registrations are welcome, however a maximum of ten people per workshop is recommended.
