The expansion of a Murray Bridge machining and manufacturing business will use a $100,000 Regional Development Fund grant to create new specialist jobs.
Kennewell Pty Ltd specialises in Computer Numerical Control (CNC) machining, CADCAM, prototyping and reverse engineering services to engineering companies, machine builders and product designers and supply auto after-market parts.

The expansion and upgrade will employ six additional ongoing full time technical, design and trade positions on completion of the project.
This company’s manufacturing, known as 4.0 or ‘the fourth industrial revolution’ involves the integration of robotics, artificial intelligence, and drives manufacturing process to use paperless control systems.
Kennewell Pty Ltd was developed by Brett Kennewell, who began operating in 1995 from a rented corner of an engineering workshop in Murray Bridge.
Today, Mr Kennewell supplies services and products to a range of agribusinesses and industries including the manufacturing and mining sectors, railways, food processing and motorsports.
The Regional Development Fund (RDF) drives economic growth through grants to boost investment in regional infrastructure and the creation of jobs in South Australia.
The RDF has been independently assessed by Ernst and Young. This assessment showed that projects supported by the RDF in the 2016/17 financial year alone would make an economic contribution to the state of over $1 billion and create over 3000 regional jobs.
Quotes attributable to Regional Development Minister Geoff Brock
It’s projects like Kennewell’s expansion that will support South Australia’s economic transition from traditional manufacturing to a high-tech future.
One of the reasons funding was increased to $15 million a year in the Regional Development Fund was to support new specialised jobs for locals in regions like the Murraylands.
The success of Kennewell’s in attracting new and repeat customers shows that business opportunities are alive and well in regional South Australia.
I congratulate the company for their vision and innovation.
