Development Plans

The South Australian Agricultural Industries and Services

During the 1990s a series of 24 Development Plans were produced under the direction of the Dr John Radcliffe, the Director General of the Department of Agriculture, South Australia.  The plans detailed South Australia’s main agricultural industries including the services provided by the Department.

Staff of the Department prepared the plans in association with representatives of the industries and farmer organisations. Their aim was to identify the production potentials for the State’s food and fibre commodities.  The plans highlighted future issues facing industries of the day and also the Departmental services necessary to achieve production potentials.
